Backstory
Imagine a crooner like Chris Isaak or Roy Orbison singing cinematic Western ballads in a spirit akin to Marty Robbins or Tom Waits and it might start to resemble Collin Morlock. Currently based in northern New Mexico, the singer-songwriter/composer/producer was raised in Idaho and spent a period of years collecting influences in New Orleans, Nashville and Wyoming, all the while evolving a body of work drawn from 70’s Laurel Canyon songwriters, early Pop, Spaghetti Western, Classic Country and film music and blends them with stories about heartbroken hopefuls of the West. The songs are simple and familiar, but somehow elude the easy trappings and clichés of genre that they were drawn from. His first self-produced collection of songs "Moonflower Demos" was released in summer 2023, followed by a second self-produced EP, "Thanks For The Song," in spring 2024.
