backstory
Collin Morlock is a singer-songwriter who chisels cinematic Western ballads out of the dusty bedrock of American Roots music. Taking cues from artists like Chris Isaak, Tom Waits, and Marty Robbins, he pairs colorful lyricism with a soundtrack-like atmosphere that evokes the wide-open landscapes of the American West.
Originally from Idaho, Morlock spent years honing his craft in New Orleans and Nashville before moving to the high desert of northern Wyoming. Working as a farmhand in near-isolation in the Bighorn Basin, the desert landscapes and old Spaghetti Western films inspired a collection of songs that became his debut EP Moonflower Demos (2023). He later wrote the material for his forthcoming EP, Thanks For The Song, while living and performing in Taos, New Mexico before returning to Wyoming to record it.
His songs have placed in the top five of the Wyoming Singer-Songwriter Competition, and he began touring in earnest in 2023, bringing his cinematic Western sound to stages across America.
